Our political action committee (USW PAC) is comprised of small, voluntary contributions from members like you. As a contributor to USW PAC you are joining thousands of Steelworkers in an effort to build the most effective, member-driven program in the labor movement to elect pro-union, pro-worker candidates.

Only USW members who are U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents may contribute. Others will be refused. All contributions will go to the USW PAC. USW PAC uses the contributions it receives for political purposes, including addressing issues of public importance and making contributions and expenditures in connection with federal, state, and local elections. You may refuse to contribute without reprisal. The Union will not favor or disadvantage anyone due to the amount of their contribution or their decision to contribute or not contribute. The contribution amounts suggested here are only suggestions. You may feel free to contribute more or less. Contributions and gifts to USW PAC are not deductible for federal income tax purposes. Federal law requires us to use our best efforts to collect and report the name, mailing address, occupation, and name of employer of individuals whose contributions exceed $200 in a calendar year.

This authorization, which is terminable at any time by written notice to that effect individually signed by me, and received by the Treasurer of the USW PAC and the employer, is voluntarily made on the specific understanding that:

  • I am not required to sign this form or make contributions to USW PAC as a condition of my employment or membership in the Union;
  • I may refuse to contribute without reprisal;
  • Only union members and executive/administrative staff who are U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents are eligible to contribute to USW PAC;
  • The contribution amounts on this form are merely suggestions. I may contribute more or less by this or some other means without fear of favor or disadvantage from the union or my employer;
  • Any money deducted pursuant to this authorization is neither part of my membership dues nor fees to the Union;
  • USW PAC uses the money it receives for political purposes, including but not limited to addressing political issues of public importance and making contributions and expenditures in connection with federal, state, and local elections.
